Official Pages: FAQ and policy
How Official Pages and Candidate Pages work: who can post, what it costs, and how we review them.
Content guidelines
Keep your statement and video about your position on projects in your jurisdiction. We remove content that includes personal attacks, false claims about other people, fundraising requests, or links to campaign donation pages. Videos can’t include campaign ads or “vote for” messaging. If we remove anything, we’ll tell you why, and you can revise and repost it.
Moderation and impersonation policy
Architect Digital reviews Official Pages to make sure they are posted by the officials and candidates they represent.
Who can post
Only a person who has verified their identity and their office or candidacy can publish to an Official Page.
When we remove content
We use our own judgment to remove content from an Official Page. We may remove a photo, statement, video, or entire page if we believe it was not posted by the official or candidate, breaks our content guidelines, or is missing a required “Paid for by” disclaimer. We may remove content before contacting anyone.
If we believe someone is impersonating your office
We take the content down and suspend the account that posted it. We then notify your office using the public contact information listed on your page. For candidates, we use the contact information on file with your election office. If you are the official or candidate and you believe we made a mistake, reply to that notice and we’ll review it.
If we remove your content
We’ll email you to tell you what we removed and why. You can revise and repost it, or reply to ask us to review our decision. Our decision after review is final.
Reporting a page
Anyone can report an Official Page using the “Report this page” link. We review every report.
FAQ for officials and candidates
- Why am I listed here?
- Your contact information comes from public records. Residents use this page to find the people who represent them on land use and infrastructure decisions.
- I’m running for office. Can I use this?
- Yes. Create a Candidate Page to share where you stand with voters in your county. Candidates follow the same steps and pay the same rate as officials.
- What happens after the election?
- If you win, your page becomes an Official Page when you take office. If you don’t, your Candidate Page comes down after the election and your subscription ends.
- Do I have to claim my page?
- No. Your public contact information stays listed either way. Claiming your page lets you add your photo, link your official website, and post a Position Statement.
- How much does it cost?
- $10 per month. Cancel anytime.
- What’s included?
- A Verified Official or Verified Candidate badge, your photo, your political party, a link to your official or campaign website, a written Position Statement, and an optional video.
- Why does claiming a page cost money?
- The fee covers verification and moderation. It also keeps pages to officials and candidates who are committed to keeping them current.
- Does paying give me any advantage?
- No. Every official and candidate pays the same rate. Paid pages don’t change the order officials and candidates appear in, and they have no effect on Community Sentiment.
- What happens if I cancel?
- Your page goes back to unclaimed. Your photo, website link, statement, and video come down. Your public contact information stays up.
- Can I pay with campaign or office funds?
- Rules differ by state and office. Check with your ethics office or counsel before choosing how to pay.
- Can I be removed from the page?
- Officials who hold public positions stay listed. If your information is wrong or you’ve left office, tell us and we’ll fix it.
